Making Love with Words

Making Love with Words

With lovely points of subtlety
We will begin the dance
Amazing panoramic scenery
Will find you in a trance

I’ll take you to a precipice
And let you linger there
Just long enough to savor
The coming things we’ll share

Then with intense imagery
I’ll paint the picture clear
And I’ll take you in that moment
It’ll be just like you’re here

Now with words I’ll touch you
Your thoughts I will provoke
You’ll blush at my discretion
Your emotions I’ll evoke

I’ll let you feel my hunger
Give you what you’re thirsty for
With words my only weapon
You’ll keep coming back…

The aroma of sinful starch singing

whets my appetite.

Soon my teeth will partake of

the long awaited deliciously delicate,

heavenly crunch, that will immediately

be followed by salty, velvety soft,

potato cake innards that no

mere mortal could possibly resist.

It doesn’t matter the toppings;

cracked pepper, seasoned salt,

melted cheese and onions,

or whether you dip them in

ranch, blue cheese, Catsup,

hot sauce and mayo,…

Lightening stretched across the sky and beamed through the curtains..

Twilight slept upon my dreary face..

Fallen shoulders lie on purple sheets.

A breath… a blow.  To sleep but never to dream.

Uneasy and restless.

Rocky mind.

Beautiful yet untouched.

Fruitful curls perfectly kept. Peach smooth lips. Satin belly with rose tucked navel.

Rested thigh and dangled foot.

Unmoved and still. Lush and Lively, yet unreachable.

Unattainable and Undisturbed.

Internally suspended within realms of impossibility.

Wishful wanting for something that never comes.

Dews of longing in an ebony pupil.

A capture of presumed tranquility.

…A proud lie for the Photographers portfolio.

On a two lane road

in a driving downpour

I press forward…

Tears flow as the images

replay in my mind.

Like and old record player,

that slowly returns to the beginning

each time it reaches the part

that is too damaged to bypass;

There you are…

writhing like a snake beneath her,

raven locks falling across your chest.

Your firm grasp of her ample round bottom,

The words sparkle inside my mind
Like scintillating spills of crystal ~
I see their colors and I hear
The way they sing to me ~
Do you hear them too ~ or
Is this miracle mine alone ~

They move in stately procession ~
Or they salsa or they jive ~
I never can predict their actions ~
I am a slave to their beauty too ~
In fact I can’t recall a time
I didn’t feel this way ~

The beauty of a wildflower can
Leave me breathless with longing ~
To create with my words ~ just once ~
A thing of such effortless

Under cover of clouds mystical and eerie

lush green pathways beckon…

From the corner of my eye

I glimpse flashes of spun gold

breezing through the trees like the wind.

I smile…

Your stealthful deftness in navigating

our forest never fails to impress me.

When I reach the clearing

your enigmatic luminescence

again gives me pause…

Have I dreamt you?

This place, our perfect meadow;

where my scarlett waves…

Where did you come from ~
How do I know you ~
There’s something so familiar
In your unfamiliar face ~

You look more than a little dazed ~
I know exactly how you feel ~
My heart is still lodged
Somewhere in my throat ~

And then you smile ~ and
All at once ~
The world fades
Into view again ~
A different world now ~

An aura of deceit lingers

like a halo as you enter the room…

Not only do you case things, but people too

passing harsh judgments secretly

from high atop your uneducated,

polarized, imagined throne.

In your invisible journal

you duly note that which you

deem worthy of your attention,

and forget about the rest;

never minding the importance to

those you propose to care about.

You always say what you think people

want to hear, or what suits you in that moment

with complete disregard for any accountability.

and when confronted with your pretense

your naturally swift, acute mind

I dreamed I saw old Abe last night
Alive as he could be
Says I, ‘But Abe, you’re long years gone’
‘I never left, says he
‘I never left, says he.

In Washington, Abe says I
As he stood smiling by my side
John Wilkes Booth killed you Abe.
Abe looked at me and said, ‘I never died.’

Happy Birthday #236

It is said “we the people” began the land of which we’re so proud.
Now this beautiful land is scarred by bitterness and voices far too loud.
The founders knew the future stretched for a lengthy span of time.
And they stated six great purposes to provide our reason, rhythm and rhyme
Must “we” transform into “they” as the years go on and on?
Or can every person and generation keep the initial faith until the battle’s won?
Let it be asked…

The Muse is Gone, but the Music Goes On

This is written in honor of one we loved and lost.
You probably know who;
In the midst of all that was false,
She was forever true.

Always sing your own song!
Always smile your own sweet smile!
Always cheer the pilgrims
Who walk each lonely mile!

Always say: “You are welcome!”
Offer gracious hospitality!
Serve the strangers who come your way,
whoever they may be.

Always wear your favorite garments
to raise your spirits in the storm.
Shelter with your beloved ones…
and in turn, they’ll keep you…

These Fingers

I’ve noticed that I haven’t been wearing any rings lately; on my fingers.

No polish, or color; except for my own brown glossy shade.

I’m attracted to the plainness, the shortness of fingernail, the roundness of knuckle, and the delicate bends.

The softness of palm with blushing lines throughout

The thin of finger and tiny mimic of bone (so enticing)

Stretching my hands in front of me, and spreading them wide, I quiver..a subtle quake

I’ve seen these hands do so much….
They bake superior pies
They raise high fists in crowds
They have kept safe, the smallest of creatures
They swiftly…

My Belly

Dare I say that I love my belly…

“I love my Belly..”

Although, I haven’t had one in awhile.  I do now…. though brief; primarily from a monthly bloat…. but a BELLY nonetheless.

A Belly
-of Fullness
-of comfort
-of laxness

A Belly reflective of too much wine and cake
A Belly of too much laughter and late night folly

A nice bulge of roundness and suppleness..looseness and slouch

A plucked freedom from strictness and conservativeness. Relieved of restraints and firmness.

No high planks or sit…

Stride The Ledge

Stride the ledge
And look down
Way down
Chaos of you
Oceans of hue
Suite of rigid
Colors of a clown

Raise your glass
Still empty
For no cheers
“Drips..Drops
Unknown hops
Your time have passed
Aging like an oak
You listened
You listened. ..hard
But no one spoke

Pick your shovel
And dig deep
Dig deep
Tonight
The wolfs are restless
Tonight
The forest knows
No sleep

You dodged the danger
Walked by
Every other stranger
Waved away
All you can find
Outpaced the echoes
Far…far behind
You ran your fears
Dry
Gambled away
Your hidden tears
You cry
Yet
You fell short
Mercy
Have no ears
Hello
And welcome
To the human kind

One tiny shoe,

With missing laces

I cradle in my hand

And hold dear

Don’t worry he said, I can climb that tree

Look at me

I am almost at the top

Little that he knew

In between the branches

My heart was fluttering

Stop and go, go and stop

Don’t worry he said, my bike is my horsey

I am riding it to the moon

My breath was shrinking

I have to let him fly

When I look into your voice

When I look into your voice,
I see peaks
I see valleys
I see reason behind the choice

When it is trembling
With waves of uncertain
I see a little girl,
Holding her hat
While the winds
Of change
Tug at her feet

When it is tender
I see
Fields of lavender
And a mist
Of warm sunshine
A bird sings
A butterfly flutters

When it is angry
I see
Ashes and crashes
And spikes of flames
Swirling
Cracks of drought
Fury
Of  hurricane thoughts

When it is happy
I see
Beams of sunflowers
Basking
Under a blue sky
Petals of cherry blossoms
Dancing
Waves of ocean
Gently
Kissing the shore

When it is sad,
I see
Droplets of rain
On a lonely window
A dove crying
An empty station
Where the trains never…

Apple Blossom Parada 2012 - Bilde

For the past 66 years, as the apple trees bloom, my little town of Sebastopol, California hosts a ruckus festival and parade downtown and at Ives Park. Until recently, people were allowed to walk around with open containers of alcohol. While that is no longer permitted, heavy partying in the bars and at the park continues throughout the weekend. Sebastopol is a quarkly town that likes to do things their own way. Much of…

She sang of her trouble and triumph

She sang through lynchings and beatings, in basements and back alleys

She sang in front of All White faces telling the destiny of Black Glory

She sang of Right and Wrong and the Wrong in what “They” called Right.
