Late in the evening on yesterday

I ran in the warm air with fireflies

And danced I did with butterflies.

The grass was cool under my bare feet

And the smell of flowers and trees mingled to make the air sweet.

And so I ran and danced

And running I fluttered and flapped my arms and skipped as if

I too could fly

Lifting my feet with a jump from the ground

But was it gravity or lack of belief that brought me back down?

And as the sunset

Closing one more day

The man woke in the morning

smiling

Remembering the boy

The child at play.

And it does seem like late in the evening

Just yesterday.

I made it through college, started at Pace in New York, family seemed to think I needed a business degree. I didn't last long, two double periods of accounting a week and I was off to N.Y. U. To make a long story short ( too late for that) I graduated from UCLA and actually, my biggest kick out of that is just saying, especially here on the east coast UCLA, but I could care less, been in Boston since 1975, though I was coming for a year or so. A very good friend at the time, she said to me "Dan you'll never leave Boston" so dear Florida “Sun Spot Baby" you're down there, been in and out of radio, TV, acting and that's me in a nut shell.

    Another home run!

You write so tellingly of memories and fantasies, you make me aware of the paucity of what too many claim is reality.

I am Tweeting this and posting it on my Timeline.

    Superb my friend, simply superb!

Thank you Larry, not only for you generous praise, but the posting and tweeting. You may also feel this way but when I publish something it’s like giving birth or being born and hoping someone will love me and feel what I wanted them to feel. And now I can take a deep breath again, thank you.

Dan, what great lines a wonderful poem. You bring life to thoughts all of us must feel at times and you do it brilliantly!
