One of my favorite movie scenes. from_here_to_eternity_movie.jpg

I’m feeling overwrought tonight ~

Restless and wild and poised for flight ~

It’s probably a phase of my own

Particular willful moon ~

Which marches in step with no one ~

I feel a frisson of sensation

Run up and down my arms ~

My scalp tingles and

My lips are numb ~

You must be close by

The signs are all there to read ~

Why can I never resist you ~

Why do I always feel this way ~

Reckless and edgy and unfulfilled ~

Breathless with longing and

Always on the edge of glory ~

A creature of passion ~ your creature ~

Hungry for the surcease only

You can give ~ and try as I may ~

I cannot stay away from you

And you refuse to set me free ~

What shall I do ~ how shall

I survive ~ when my love for you

Is so much stronger than my will ~

I began writing poetry in my early 20s, and then put it aside and forgot it. Then a couple of years ago, I suddenly began writing ~ about everything under the sun ~ and I began to write poetry again. Or perhaps I should say channel more than write, since I feel that I am merely the conduit for some of the pieces I write. Those are the best of times, when the words flow, and those are the words which speak to others. Wish I could live in that state all the time!

  1. Melody … Seriously it’s time for you to place these yearnings into a little book of your own. You are a bud burst into bloom. It’s time.

    Love,

Thank you, Theresa. My move date is a month from today, and that’s the next thing on my agenda! Gros bisous!

      • Large Kisses … it looks better in English. Ha ha ha ha! :D

Very sensitive, sensuous write Melody! You’ve reached into your own heart and revealed your “reckless and edgy and unfulfilled” self. That, my friend, is an act of bravery…Well done!

Thank you, Wayne. I like to think I’m in touch with my inner naughty twin, Vixen. She consults with me sometimes on my love poems. I blame all the visual delirium experienced by my readers on Vixen. But seriously, Wayne, thank you for a warm and lovely compliment. :)

  3. Melody, you truly captured the conflicted emotions of being tethered to a love that both entices and depletes us. Wonderfully done!

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. What’s a woman to do? Thank you, Cher.

Got something to say?
