Shiny little objects
left on a sill.
A pair of iridescent earrings
and a delicate necklace.
“I don’t know if we will
see each other again,”
she said as her opal eyes
reflected the spectrum of dawn.
Yet, the opulent night memory
and her jewels remain
just enough to sustain.

  1. Dean this is so pretty. I love it. :)

  2. There’s the hard-nosed, hard-hitting, article-writing Dean, and then there’s the Dean who writes poetry of such delicacy and beauty he can make you cry. Wow! I’m so happy I know you both! :D

Got something to say?
