Shiny little objects
left on a sill.
A pair of iridescent earrings
and a delicate necklace.
“I don’t know if we will
see each other again,”
she said as her opal eyes
reflected the spectrum of dawn.
Yet, the opulent night memory
and her jewels remain
just enough to sustain.
