- Quicksand
An aura of deceit lingers
like a halo as you enter the room…
Not only do you case things, but people too
passing harsh judgments secretly
from high atop your uneducated,
polarized, imagined throne.
In your invisible journal
you duly note that which you
deem worthy of your attention,
and forget about the rest;
never minding the importance to
those you propose to care about.
You always say what you think people
want to hear, or what suits you in that moment
with complete disregard for any accountability.
and when confronted with your pretense
your naturally swift, acute mind
becomes foggy, daft, and unable to recall.
Or worse, you flat out deny that which
you hope others have no proof of…
Though I love you,
and continually wish for your growth…
I must avoid your hazy self created brume
that I am unable to navigate,
lest I find myself unwittingly sinking
into your quicksand.

This territory here is quite familiar to me, I call it “exactly what I’d like to say but don’t exactly”.
Love it- a very harrowing and careful tone but so blunt and direct.

Sadly Pete I think we all encounter toxic people, but the really sad thing is when you are related to them. sighs… Thank you so much for taking the time to read my words.
