- Real Americans and True Patriots
[/media-credit]People Bouquet
This poem was inspired by two wise people. One observed, “You can’t love this country and hate at least half the people in it. The other asked the pertinent question, “Ain’t I an American?” I agree with the first and say yes to the second.
Real Americans and True Patriots love their country and see to its need. They challenge one another to live out the full meaning of its creed.
Real Americans and True Patriots pledge to the flag, and to the Republic for which it stands. They are brothers and sisters who open their hearts and extend helping hands.
Real Americans and True Patriots know the flag consists of cloth, dye, and thread while the Republic is made from the conviction and valor of both living and dead.
Real Americans and True Patriots fight for the self-evident truth that all citizens are equal and insist on government of, by and for “we, the people.”
Real Americans and True Patriots risk their fortunes their honor and their lives. They do so freely so their country thrives…
Real Americans and True Patriots stand for freedom and act with fortitude. They’ll abide neither men nor women in involuntary servitude.
Real Americans and True Patriots serve the cause of the greatest good from suburban enclaves to the urban hood.
Real Americans and True Patriots fight for the right without question or pause. They will march into Hell for the Republic’s just cause.
Real Americans and True Patriots unite through unbreakable trust. They reject hate, bigotry, jealous greed and vicious power lust.
Real Americans and True Patriots cherish the colors of red, white and blue; they accept one another regardless of size, shape, ancestry or differing skin hue.
Real Americans and True Patriots love the ideal of America more than the land; for its principles, purposes and enduring promises they make a firm stand.
Real Americans and True Patriots will win or die in the attempt. They look upon cowards and traitors with open contempt.
Real Americans and True Patriots know the home of the brave and the land of the free must keep its words to you and to me.
Real Americans and True Patriots ask what they can do for their country and what together we all can do for the freedom and well-being of man.
Real Americans and True Patriots believe united we stand while divided we fall; we must be indivisible, one nation with liberty, justice, equality and prosperity for all.

Cher,
Thanks as ever. I am much more pleased with the presentation as well. It seems less cluttered than the previous edition.
Thanks for your kind words and unfailing cogent advice. As we both know, less is sometimes more.
Thanks again!
