The wind howls as the sun sinks,

but there are no longer leaves

to rustle at it’s discretion.

This once lush and green valley

stands as an onminous testament

to nature’s fury.

Towering hollowed out ebony spectres

present eerie snapshots of a

feeding fire’s frenzy.

and though rebirth is imminent

for now… all that is left…

are the blackened ghostly reminders

of the landscape’s former splendor.

Dani, timely, indeed, and beautiful and sad. Even though we know that new trees will grow in their place, these trees are gone for good.

    Dani,

If we do not learn to live in harmony with one another, other creatures, and the planet, the devastation you describe may be a global phenomenon.

What is so wrong with so many of our fellow human beings?

    Excellent and stark imagery!
