When I look into your voice,
I see peaks
I see valleys
I see reason behind the choice

When it is trembling
With waves of uncertain
I see a little girl,
Holding her hat
While the winds
Of change
Tug at her feet

When it is tender
I see
Fields of lavender
And a mist
Of warm sunshine
A bird sings
A butterfly flutters

When it is angry
I see
Ashes and crashes
And spikes of flames
Swirling
Cracks of drought
Fury
Of  hurricane thoughts

When it is happy
I see
Beams of sunflowers
Basking
Under a blue sky
Petals of cherry blossoms
Dancing
Waves of ocean
Gently
Kissing the shore

When it is sad,
I see
Droplets of rain
On a lonely window
A dove crying
An empty station
Where the trains never come

When I look into your voice,
I see peaks
I see valleys
I see reason behind the choice

  1. MZ, this is so lovely and shows such delicacy of feeling. This is a beautiful poem!

    • Thank you Melody :)

  2. MZ…MZ…words cannot describe how I felt when reading this poem. You are a compelling poet, and this one…this one, left my heart full and my eyes weeping. I will print this one. I will save it, so that I am always reminded of the beautiful person you are and how fortunate I am to have you as a forever friend.

    • Trying hard Not to rhyme….
