Lullaby

Let’s get the hammer and smash the records in our heads that have been so long replayed, the worn grooves have become an art form all their own. The Old Lady And The Lottery

The old lady stood in line Her age at least seventy nine There she stood in front of me On line to win a million Don’t you see I was last in line So there we stood  She in front of me This would take awhile She placed her bets carefully Being sure the cashier understood I’ve seen it before Some green dollar bills Clutch in aging hands She was there to win Even thought she was  Near the end Of more than just this line Who would take her money  If she’s not here next time And I with clutch hands Slowly moving forward...

For Jennifer, Then, Now And Always

This poem was first written August 4,1996. The next year my wife was diagnosed with cancer which she fought bravely against all odds for the next 14 years. She always  kept a happy, positive outlook on life. Jennifer loved being with all her heart. Loved the creatures of the sea, the air,and land she found the good in all humans.  She especially loved the ocean and one time had been a strong ocean swimmer, she was a mermaid. She adopted whales and dolphins, loved to go out to sea and watch the whales play, I know she longed to join them, and now she has. On September 25th...
